epic fail

so...obviously i suck horribly at blogging...*crickets* i'm a little embarrassed to even write this post. i don't think it's normal to have a nine month gap in between posts. what can i say? i'm sorry. i missed you! do over?

where oh where to begin...
let's start with one of my favorite things in my life at the moment. my job. weird, right? i know. i'm one of the few people on the planet that loves waking up and going to work every day. i am the receiver of  hugs & love notes & sticky fingers & temper tantrums & never-ending pointless stories & sweet smiles {on a daily basis}. i am a first grade teacher and i am beyond blessed. they are the apples of my eye. the peanut butter to my jelly. the...i ran out of metaphors but you get the point. i love them.
today was our 106th day of school which means the school year is more than 1/2 over! i can't even believe how fast my first year of teaching has flown by. i have had my fair share of challenges and curve balls thrown my way but with the help of my amazing support system i have been able to come out on top. i have learned so much in such a short amount of time. a teacher truly is a lifelong learner.

what else...
the hubby is in the middle of basketball season and soon to start track season. not long after that and football season will start{YAY}. in case you haven't noticed, seasons don't end in our house, they overlap. we do what we love and we love what we do.

whelp...that about wraps it up.
i promise to {try} to make these posts somewhat regular.

until next time,

home

ahh it feels good to be home

we are officially all settled in to our new home and it feels oh so good. it has been a crazy couple of months (hence the gap in posts...oops)! leaving behind our first house as a married couple was easier than i expected. i thought i would feel a little sadness or something...but nope, nothing. instead, i felt pure JOY. which is partly (and when i say partly, i mean completely) due to the fact that i am in love with our new house. i honestly don't think it's normal to love a house as much as i love ours. it's weird.

BUT maybe you will be able to understand my love when you see it for yourself...if not, just pretend you do. ;)

so here it is, the grand tour...

my FAV place in the whole house...the living room. (Kobe wanted to be a part of the photoshoot)
had to capture this beaut. pretty proud of my diy gallery wall :)

aaand here we have the kitchen/eating area. no, it's not a dining room....we're not fancy.  (please excuse my naked doors...currently in the market for curtains.)

even the hallway is pretty. (see, i told you...in love)

guest room numero uno...or as Caleb calls it, "the cottage".

masta boudoir. <3

again, pretty stairs. *sigh*

hubby's man-cave a.k.a football room

so there ya have it. now do you understand why i'm in love? (smile and nod, please)
anywho, it's a work-in-progress. my {semi} crafty self has a few diy projects planned that require more moola than our contract currently allows. (sorry, inside joke.) but, as soon as the moola starts rollin' in, i'll update you lovelies with the finished projects.

hope you enjoyed the grand tour!

life lately

ah sweet springtime *sigh*
the weather is warmer and the colors are prettier...how can you not love spring? the changing season is a little reminder of the big changes happening in our lives. the hubby is all geared up for his new job as head football coach. and yes, in case you were wondering, football season does start in the spring. i know, right?
anywho, along with a new job comes a new place to call home. our current home is being packed and boxed up to transport to the new home. let me just tell you, moving is not all it's cracked up to be. i don't recommend it. boxes on boxes on boxes! moving day is 6 days away and I. CAN'T. WAIT. i'm beyond excited to be in our new house. it's super cute :) {pics to follow soon}. however, it will be bittersweet leaving my hometown and our first house together as a married couple.
if i've learned anything over the past few months, it's that life is constantly changing and ya gots ta roll with it.
as we prepare to start this new chapter in our lives, i will be closing a different chapter in my life. that chapter is College. my last day of student teaching is may 9 and graduation day is may 18. seriously, i could jump for friggin' joy! i'm SO ready to change into my big girl pants and start my teaching career. obviously, this will require a teaching job first. buuut that's a blog for another day.

i think it's safe to say that we have ourselves a {very} full plate for the next few weeks.
rather than stressing over the looooooooong list of to do's and what if's, i'm choosing to embrace the changes and enjoy the beautiful spring weather.

God is good.
